Lt Gen RV Brims CB CBE DSO - Chairman

Lt Gen Robin Brims joined The Light Infantry in 1970. His early service was in 2LI and he commanded 3LI in Germany and Belfast. He commanded 24 Airmobile Brigade in Colchester and Bosnia. He was Chief of Staff HQ Northern Ireland through the period leading up to the Good Friday Agreement. He commanded a Multinational Division in Bosnia before becoming GOC 1(UK) Armoured Division. He led the Division in the invasion of Iraq in 2003. He returned to Baghdad as the Deputy Commander Coalition Forces in 2005. His last Army appointment was Commander Field Army. He then spent 2 years reorganizing the University of Kurdistan-Hawler, in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, before returning to his home near Newcastle where he has a portfolio of appointments. He was Colonel The Light Infantry 2001 to 2006 and Colonel Commandant The Light Division 2005 to 2007.
Maj Gen MD Regan CB OBE - Member
Michael Regan joined the KSLI in 1962. His regimental service was in the KSLI, 3LI and 1LI in Germany, Plymouth, Malaysia, Cyprus, Hong Kong and NI. He commanded 3LI from 1981-84 in Cyprus, Tidworth and Fermanagh. Subsequently, he commanded 20th Armoured Brigade and after attending the RCDS he was Deputy Chief of Staff HQ UKLF. In 1991 he was appointed GOC Wales & Western District based in Copthorne Barracks, Shrewsbury. His final post in the Army was Chief of Staff HQ AG (Training & Personnel Command). He was Colonel The Light Infantry from 1991-96. On retiring from the Army he became Controller of the Army Benevolent Fund for 6 years. Currently his main links with the armed forces are as a Trustee of the Royal Commonwealth Ex-Services League, a member of the Rifles Heritage Committee and as Chairman of the Light Infantry Club.

Lt Col R Bevan - LI Reunion

Called up to National Service at Copthorne Barracks in 1958 and joined 1st Bn KSLI at Colchester in November of that year. Re-enlisted as a Regular after 16 months service. Promoted Serjeant in 1963 and completed a 3 year tour of duty as an instructor at the School of Infantry, Hythe Kent.
Rejoined 1 KSLI/3LI as a Pl Sgt in 1966 and served in various ranks and appointments until 1972 when appointed RQMS 1LI in Lemgo. Promoted to WO1 in 1974 and appointed RSM 2LI in Lemgo. Commissioned into1LI in1978 and was awarded MID on NI tour the same year.
Posted to 3LI in 1979 as Assistant Adjutant and then to QM (Tech) and QM (Main). Remained with 3LI until Jan 1986 and was awarded a GOC’s Commendation on a NI tour in 1983.
In Jan 1986 was seconded to 2/7 GR in Hong Kong as QM and was responsible for the logistical aspect of their disbandment in 1987. Transferred to 1/2 GR as QM and was awarded an MBE in 1988.
Promoted to Lt Col in 1989 and appointed CO British Army Training Support Unit (Canada/USA).
Retired from the Army in 1993 and became the Camp Commandant Copthorne Barracks as a Retired Officer (Full circle completed) and remained in post until 2004 on retirement.
Lt Col (Retd) PJ Wykeham - Member

Lt Col Wykeham was commissioned into the KSLI in 1963, serving as a platoon commander in Plymouth and Malaya. After 2 years at the Depot at Shrewsbury he was appointed as ADC to General Sir Michael Carver (then GOCinC Southern Command and subsequently CGS) before joining 3LI as RSO in Minden. He moved on to Sandhurst as a Platoon Instructor and Adjutant Old College. A short tour with HQ 3 Bde in Londonderry was interspersed before Staff College and a desk in Army Training, MOD. The next few years were spent at HQ Light Division, with 3LI as a Company Commander in Catterick and Cyprus and at the then new Light Division Depot in Winchester before a move to SHAPE as PSO to UKNMR and Chief PSS. He returned to UK on retirement in 1992 to become Regimental Secretary, a post he held for 15 years.
Maj (Retd) HL Kennedy MBE - Member
Major Ken Kennedy joined the KSLI in 1967 at the age of fifteen and a half as a Junior Leader. In 1969 on completion of training he joined 3LI in Belfast as the troubles erupted. He has also served in 2RGJ, 2LI, 5LI, The West Midlands Regiment and finally the Rifles.
He is currently the Area Recruiting Officer for the Army in Shropshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire and is due to retire in Feb 12. He is married to Angela and has a son James.
Maj (Retd) NA de C Jones - Secretary
Nigel Jones joined 3LI in 1970, serving in Germany, UK, NI and Cyprus as RSO, Adjutant and Company Commander. This time was interspersed with tours as Training Major 1/9 UDR, RARDE Fort Halstead and a very enjoyable 3 years at the French Military Academy before returning to Shrivenham as OC the Officer Undergraduate Corps. After his final tour in HQ 5 Div at Shrewsbury he was appointed as the LI Shropshire & Herefordshire County Secretary and is now the RIFLES Midlands Regional Secretary.
Capt (Retd) I I Foster - Treasurer
Captain (Retd) Ian Foster is currently the Assistant Regimental Secretary Finance/Benevolence and Welfare at RHQ The Rifles, in Winchester, an appointment he has held since formation of The Rifles in February 2007. Prior to this he held the equivalent post in RHQ Light Infantry from April 2002. His service career spanned 30 years which he served with The Royal Army Pay Corps and then The Adjutant General Corps on its formation in 1992. He was commissioned into the AGC(SPS) in February 1995.
Mr S Harris - Communications

Sean Harris was commissioned into the Light Infantry in 1992, he joined 2LI as a rifle platoon commander serving in Germany, Canada and Northern Ireland. After a secondment to The Royal Irish as a rifle platoon commander he returned to 2LI as the mortar platoon commander serving in Germany, Canada and Bosnia. He was then posted in 1996 as a captain instructor to the Mortar Division of the School of Infantry at Warminster for two years. He resigned his regular commission whilst at Warminster and left the army in 1998. He has since then made a new career for himself in the advertising industry, and is married with a wife; Alex, and 3 children; Isabella, Jasper and Patrick.
